Types of Online Roulette

How to play Online Roulette

It’s easy to get started with Online Roulette at Mr Green. Once your account is verified and funded, you can choose the type of roulette table you want to play and get started. Choose your chip denominations when setting your stake size per spin. You can then drag these chips onto the roulette betting table to cover the numbers you wish to bet on.

You can bet on individual numbers, which is known as a straight-up bet. You can place even-money wagers on the outcome being red or black, odd or even or the number being in the 1-18 or 19-36 range. You can put down a range of additional ‘inside bets’ which cover multiple numbers within the inner section of the betting table. Outside bets

The High/Low bet covers a set of 18 numbers: Low (1-18) or High (19-36). Place your bet in the box marked 1-18 or 19-36 on the table. Again, if a zero comes up, you will lose your High/Low bet.

Game strategies in roulette

The existence of a house edge in all forms of online roulette means it’s not possible to use a betting strategy to win long-term. However, there are several betting strategies you can deploy to maximise your betting bankroll.

Advanced Roulette Bets

Section Bets

Section bets, also known as ‘French bets’, require you to bet on corners and splits to cover more numbers on every spin. You can find the sections on the roulette betting table, which displays a layout of the numbers as they appear in order on the roulette wheel.

These sections include Neighbour (Voisins du Zero) bets, Tiers du Cylindre (Third of the Wheel) bets, and Orphans (Orphelins), or the eight numbers that don’t belong to Voisins or Tiers du Cylindre.

Voisins du Zero (Neighbours)

Voisins du Zero is the biggest section bet available in roulette. It covers numbers on either side of the green zero, including 17 numbers in total. Players that bet on Voisins du Zero covers nine bets in this section bet:

2 units on 25-29 corner
1 unit on 4-7 split
1 unit on 12-15 split

So, a ‘Voisins by 10’ bet would cost you €90 in total (€10 x 9).

Tiers du Cylindre (Third of the Wheel)

Tiers du Cylindre bets cover an area on the roulette wheel opposite the green zero. Players that bet on Tiers du Cylindre cover 12 numbers in total, requiring six separate bets:

1 unit on 10-11 split
1 unit on 13-16 split
1 unit on 23-24 split
1 unit on 27-30 split
1 unit on 33-36 split

So, a ‘Tiers by 10’ bet would cost €60 in total (€10 x 6).

Orphelins (Orphans)

Orphans are the smallest type of section bet, covering all the remaining numbers between Tiers du Cylindre and Voisins. You must cover eight numbers in total, consisting of four split bets and one straight-up bet:

1 unit on 14-17 split
1 unit on 17-20 split
1 unit on 31-34 split

So, an ‘Orphelins by 10’ bet would cost €50 in total (€10 x 5).
